Amelia Hutchison is a community artist and yoga teacher. She is a native of Victoria, British Columbia and a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art.

A personal interest in the transformational power of art to heal, restore and rebuild, especially in the areas of crime and trauma has led her to work at the Baltimore City Detention Center, Powell Recovery, and with other community organization in the city. She worked as the programs coordinator for the New Day Campaign: an art based initiative aimed at destigmatizing mental illness and addiction. Most recently she taught English and lead meditation groups in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Amelia's own artwork revolves around themes of forgiveness, empathy and memory. She uses painting, video, mixed media installation and embroidery to explore these concepts.
